Amazon Set To Introduce The Option Of Cash Payments With PayCode Option At Checkout.

For the orders of Amazon.com in United States, Amazon has planned to bring the option of cash payments. If the customers desire to pay through physical money they can select the option of PayCode at checkout after which they will be receiving a QR code and will get the time of 24 hours to pay for these goods at a participating center of Western Union. In case of refunds too, the cash can be refunded from the Western Union center as well. Partner with Western Union for payments as well as refunds within 24 hours of purchase.

Two companies had launched PayCode earlier in the year. The option is available in other countries as well, particularly in the countries where the payment by cash is a more common mode of payment instead of credit or debit card. Approximately 80% of people who reside in America are living within five miles distance of a participating Western Union center of which there are 15,000.

PayCode has gone live today in the United States and will be rolling out throughout the country in the weeks that are coming up.

Amazon in a statement said that their customers are fond of the convenience they get with paying in cash. Along with Western Union they are able to offer more choices to customers for shopping and will enable them to pay for the online purchase in a way that they find convenient for themselves

This way Amazon will be hoping to reach the potential customers who have typically preferred the brick-and-mortar stores for their shopping. However this system is still not preferable for those who don’t own a smartphone or cannot print the QR code.
