Vaping Products Banned In India To Keep Youth Away From These Products

This week, India took a step to ban e-cigarettes. This move will ensure that the illegal usage of these products will be punishable for up to three years in prison in case of repeat offenders. Elsewhere, in China there has been a halt in the sale of Juul which is being considered. This comes only days after the introduction of this device in the market. Throughout this time the U.S lawmakers have been trying to crackdown on e-cigarettes and vaping products. Due to this, sales mysteriously dropped in China as well soon after launch.

The prohibition on vaping products is a measure that has been undertaken in order to prevent the usage of e-cigarettes among children as per a government statement which also states that these products will act as the products non-smokers who are young or in their adolescence turn to.  As per the ban, those who commit the offence for the first-time will receive imprisonment of up to a year and a fine which is of $1400 which equals roughly 100,000 rupees and for repeat offenders it is three sentences and a fine of $7000 or both.

The government statement also claimed that the attractive appearance and the flavors of these products have led to an exponential rise in their usage which according to them is acquiring epidemic levels in countries that are developed. This ‘epidemic’ has been affecting especially children and the younger population.

Pods and cartridges will be included in the ban which got an approval on Wednesday and the storage of these products will also be punishable with 6 months of prison and/or fine of $700 which is 50,000 rupees
